Warranty

Every Safari carries a 3-year structural warranty on the van, and a 5-year structural warranty on the chassis from the chassis maker.

The warranty covers the original buyer only. It doesn’t transfer if the caravan is sold. Your owner’s handbook has the full terms.

Warranty statement dated 17 June 2026

Structural warranty on the van, from delivery
3 years
Structural warranty on the chassis, from the chassis maker
5 years

Covered

It covers the parts of the caravan we build ourselves against faulty workmanship, for 3 years from the date of delivery. That includes wall framing and furniture and cabinet construction, on both hybrid and aluminium framed vans.

Not covered

It doesn’t cover parts we fit but don’t make. That includes upholstery, gas or spring struts, hinges, locks, handles, the chassis, appliances, plumbing, cladding, glass and windows, accessories, and fading. Many of those have their own warranty, listed below.

  1. Tell us straight away

Stop using the caravan in any way that could make the damage worse.

  2. Bring it in for inspection

Bring the caravan to Safari or one of our dealers for inspection, with the receipts and stamped logbook that show it has been fully serviced on schedule. An undercarriage service on its own doesn’t count.

  3. We repair workmanship faults

Getting the caravan to us or the dealer is at your cost. If the inspection finds the fault is our workmanship, we pay for the repair. We decide how it’s fixed, and we may use refurbished or alternative parts. We don’t cover travel, freight or accommodation costs for a claim.

  4. Don’t have repairs done by anyone else first

We won’t pay for third-party work we haven’t approved, and unapproved repairs or replacements void the warranty.

Servicing

Have the caravan serviced to the schedule in your owner’s guide, by a registered business with an ABN. Keep the logbook stamped and keep the receipts. Servicing is paid for by the owner.

Water getting in because servicing was missed or poorly done isn’t covered.

What voids the warranty

  • Only having undercarriage services done.
  • Having the caravan re-clad by a third-party repairer. Insurance repairs done by an authorised Safari dealer keep the factory warranty.
  • Repairs or replacements done without our approval first.

Appliances

Appliances are warranted by the companies that make them, under their own terms and periods. We aren’t the warrantor. We and our dealers can help you lodge a claim, but the appliance maker decides whether it’s covered.

Call-out fees, and labour to remove an appliance, aren’t covered.

The chassis

Our warranty doesn’t cover the chassis or its parts, tyres or wheel alignment. The chassis maker’s 5-year structural warranty applies instead, on its own terms.

The chassis warranty doesn’t cover:

  • Tyre wear
  • Wheel alignment
  • Bent axles
  • Brake shoes
  • Brake magnets
Tandem off-road wheels and red shock absorbers under a Safari chassis
Independent suspension with red coil springs and twin shocks under a Safari Tuff Roader-X

What isn’t covered

  • Chassis, brakes, tyres and appliances we don’t make. Contact the maker, as they may have their own warranty. The appliance warranties we receive come to you with the caravan.
  • Damage from misuse, negligence, accident, flood or storm.
  • Overloading, and extreme off-road damage to off-road models.
  • Body flex from off-road use, such as cracks in the cladding.
  • Creek crossings where the floor goes under water, or any other immersion.
  • Normal wear and tear, including impact and stone damage.
  • Faults caused by accessories or options fitted after the caravan left Safari or your dealer.
  • Faults caused by not using and maintaining the caravan as Safari or the dealer instructs.
  • Further damage from continuing to use or tow the caravan once a fault was, or should have been, obvious.
  • Weathering, exposure to the elements and natural causes.
  • Consequential loss, such as loss of use, disrupted travel plans, accommodation, fuel, phone costs, lost or damaged belongings, and lost earnings or rent.

When the warranty doesn’t apply

  • We weren’t told about the fault during the warranty period.
  • The caravan has been altered, modified or repaired by anyone other than Safari or an authorised repairer.
  • The caravan has been used for rental hire or other commercial use.
  • The fault is within standard industry tolerances.

Australian Consumer Law

Your goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Make your claim with the authorised dealer you bought your Safari from. Every Safari dealer gives the same warranty and handles claims the same way. For routine servicing to keep your logbook up to date, see where to service in your state.
